Simon was born in South Wales. On leaving school at 15 he began to work in countryside management and conservation at a local nature reserve. After 6 years he was offered a job on a local building site as an engineer’s assistant. Over the following 9 years Simon worked his way up to Project Manager. In 2000 Simon moved to Ireland and within six months he suffered a serious injury to his leg which left him on crutches and unable to walk.

It was at this time that Simon was introduced to Chinese Medicine and philosophy. After a quick recovery from his injury Simon studied and qualified in Tui Na, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Medical Qigong, Feng Shui and Medical Astrology.

In 2006 Simon started to feel that there was more to the human condition so he started studying Buddhism firstly through the Zen writings of Thich Naht Hahn this eventually led to an in depth study of the Dharma under the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.

In October 2008 Simon met Master Dechan Jueren while he was conducting a serious of talks in Ireland. In March 2009 Simon received an Abhiseka in The Medicine Buddha Dharma and training in Prajna Akasagarbha. Simon then invited the teachers from England to Ireland to hold further classes for the Irish Public, this led to the opening of The Iomlan Centre in Ennis where which is the First Hanmi empowered Shrine in Ireland.

Simon is currently the Co Director of the Iomlan Centre in Ennis and he is also working on opening up of a CancerSuppoprt Clinic in the MidWwest which will combine Buddhist Healing Techniques and TCM
